Eat My Blog Bake Sale in Pasadena
How could so much goodness be available in one spot? Well it is possible at this charity bake sale. Indulge in peppermint cakewiches from Cake Monkey Bakery, Sotto‘s cannoli with ricotta and pistachio and Magnolia Bakery‘s cupcakes to name but just a few. Thrillist Rewards Hollywood Craft Beer Crawl
It’s Saturday afternoon, time for beering! Pay your $25 and get access to eight craft drafts at a variety of Hollywood bars all within walking distance of each other. Big Wang’s, Hemingway’s Lounge and even the exclusive Writer’s Room! Conveniently enough, Blue Palms Brewhouse is on the stop and it’ll be throwing its Jingle Bell Jubilee around the same time. So maybe mix in some winter brews while you’re at it. See next event listing.

If you love dark beers as much as I do then you will just have to make it out to this winter brew beer fest. The tap list includes the awesome likes of The Bruery 3 French Hens, Avery’s rum barrel-aged strong pumpkin ale and Port/Lost Abbey’s bourbon-barrel-aged Santa’s Little Helper! Pours start at 2pm and will go til the kegs kick.

Artisanal LA’s 2nd Annual Holiday Pop-Up Shop
One-stop holiday shopping at this fab annual holiday pop-up. Find goodies from over 50 local artisanal vendors that are sure to thrill your giftees. For DIYers there will be demos for home beer crafting, winter pickling and how to make a lemon sorbet. Sample stalkers can enjoy organic spirits, craft beer and wine tastings as well as Handsome Roaster and Stumptown coffee samplings by the Market on Holly.

Steve McQueen Weekend and James Bond Double Feature
I know these film events are supposed to be for dads but damn, I like Steve McQueen and Sean Connery, too. HOT! This whole weekend, the Egyptian Theatre will showcase a slew of Steve, including the 50th anniversary of The Magnificent Seven as well as The Great Escape. But unfortunately, no Bullitt. And on Sunday, the Aero Theater in Santa Monica will be showing Goldfinger and Thunderball, featuring my favorite Bond: Sean “Hot Scot” Connery.

Eat My Blog Summer Charity Bake Sale
We, bloggers, can criticize food but how are we as bakers? OK, not me, but definitely all the other food bloggers who will be selling their tasty pastries at this biannual bake sale. The Manila Machine’s Ube cupcakes, Lindsay of LAist’s scrumptious smoked salt toffee and so much more. There will even be gluten-free goodies available. Here’s the menu for your perusal. Proceeds go to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. I’ll be manning the table from 10am to 1pm if you want to stop by and say, “Hi!” and put me to work. Hope to see you there.

Beer Chicks’ Father’s Day Class at Rustic Canyon
If you still don’t know how to thank dear ol’ Dad for raising you, I say buy the man a drink, or several via this beer class by the Beer Chicks. I took the class back in April and had a blast. You and Dad will learn about all the different beers by tasting them. And for this class there will be several craft beers including Barrel-aged Beers, Double IPA’s and Sour Belgians.

Free Burger for Dad at The Counter
Score a free burger for Pops at any of The Counter restaurants just by walking in and yelling at the top of your lungs, “I WANT THE BFD!” OK, maybe you don’t have to yell it but just bring in your family and then let your waitress know you want the BFD (“burger for Dad”). And he’ll get a standard burger with toppings; it’s extra for the premium toppings. Only works when accompanied by a paying customer.

Eat My Blog Summer 2010 Charity Bake Sale Plus 3 Recipes

Last year’s blogger charity bake sale, Eat My Blog, was such a huge success that it just makes sense to make it a biannual thing. Not only is it for a good cause, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, but I can only go so long without such yummy fare. This summer’s bake sale will feature over 2,000 baked goods, priced between $1 to $4, from over 70 bakers which include some of your favorite bloggers like Lindsay from LAist, Jo of My Last Bite, and Evelina of Two Hungry Pandas as well as KCRW’s Good Food host Evan Kleiman, Drago Centro and Scoops Ice Cream. This must-do event will take place next Saturday, June 19 on Tender Greens West Hollywood‘s outdoor patio.

There are SO many goodies to look forward to but I have to say that of the many making their brief appearance on the table (as I’m sure all will quickly sell out) my instant faves are Eating LA‘s chocolate Guinness cupcakes with maple syrup frosting, Domestic Divas‘ bacon brownies with bourbon caramel sauce and the Ube cupcakes of Let Me Eat Cake blogger/Manila Machine food truck mastermind Nastassia Johnson. Fortunately, the blogger bakers were good enough to share their recipes so if they sell out at the event I can at least go home and try to make ‘em myself. Hee! Hit the jump for the recipes.
