Well exactly. I should have removed that flame, take out that glass, reframed the shot, used a tripod and so on.

Yeah, I’m not crazy about that flashlight app or using my little purse light either. Just doesn’t look good.

So what was it about the iPhone app? I think the flashlights and stuff give a purple hue to pics that kind of corrupt the colors actually going on in the food. That is, if no other options are available. Just shouldn’t be an automatic. ;)

Regarding the “bad” photo, I’m not sure that there’s much that you could’ve done better with it. Given a dark room paired with a blindingly bright flame, I’d be hard pressed to come up with a “good” shot.
