Upstairs 2’s Wine & Dine Wednesdays
Posted by Caroline on Crack under Los Angeles, Dining -The Wine House’s restaurant, Upstairs 2, is upping the frequency of its popular Wine and Dine dinners from every other Wednesday to every Wednesday night.
This special region-themed dinner consists of a four-course spread — prepared by the restaurant’s chef, Todd Barrie — and paired with four wines from around the world, chosen by sommelier Marilyn Snee.
Cost is $55 and you need to call to make a reservation, specifying that you’re reserving for “Wine & Dine Wednesdays.” There’s limited seating so it’s best to make your reservations asap.
Upcoming schedule:
January 7: Wines of Southern Italy
January 14: Right Bank vs. Left Bank Bordeauxs
January 28: Groovy Grapes
February 4: Napa Cabernets
February 11: Sangiovese
February 18: Worldwide Syrahs
February 25: Pacific Northwest
Maybe forgo celebrating sweetheartdom on Valentine’s Day (which is sure to be a CF as it falls on a Saturday this year) and instead do up dinner here the Wednesday before.
I’ve never had dinner at Upstairs 2 before but seems like the folks on Yelp seem to like it; it averages four out of five stars.

V-day at Upstairs 2, what a wonderful idea! And my favorite, Syrahs!

I’m sayin’! Also it depends if you wanna celebrate before V-day or after. Sangiovese before.

Yeah, I realized that after I hit submit. Either way, before of after, I’m really into Syrahs right now.

Syrahs are yum! Any faves?

Just got back from Nor Cal and stopped in at Convergence. They have an amazing Petite Syrah and their “K” Syrah. Ravenswood makes a pretty good, affordable Syrah. Other wineries up in Amador/Sutter Creek with good Syrah’s Terre Rouge, Jeff Runquist, Dobra Zemlja, Karly, Frog’s Tooth, and Sobon Estate.
