Wine & DineLA: Special Wine Pairing Menus
Posted by Caroline on Crack under Los Angeles, Dining -In honor of California Wine Month, American Express and over 40 L.A. restaurants will be presenting Wine & DineLA — special wine pairing menus from September 7 thru 21. Of course the lineup includes expensivo restaurants like Saddle Peak Lodge and Valentino, but there are also restaurants featuring menus for under $100 per person.
I give you the following examples (you can get dinner without the wine pairings, too, but below are just the prices with the wine):
Asia de Cuba — 3 courses for $90
Bistro 45 — 5 courses for $95
Cafe Pinot — 4 courses for $78
Chinois on Main — 4 courses for $90
Circa 55 — 3 courses for $65
Citrus at Social — 4 courses for $95
Ciudad — 3 courses for $75; 4 courses for $95
Ford’s Filling Station — 3 courses for $65
Jiraffe — 3 courses for $85
One Sunset — 3 courses for $70
Simon LA — 4 courses for $99
STK — 3 courses for $85
Whist — 3 courses for $89

Unfortunately, the catch is that this special menu is only available to card-carrying AMEX members and only when they use their AMEX card.

That pic looks like Sheddy’s? Is it too early for wine?

Actually that was from Bodega de Cordova, now Sheddy’s. Too early for wine? Pshaw!

Is that really the size of their pour? If this is the case, I am so there! :)

I’m not sure but that was just a picture of a glass of wine that I used for my post.

Has anyone tried this at all? Price-wise doesn’t sound like that good of a deal. During restaurant weeks in NYC, restaurants offer a much affordable menu…

Cecilia,
There’s also a dineLA restaurant week next year. THAT one has the deals so you can try out new restaurants. This one is just dinner with a wine tasting menu to celebrate wine month.
