All You Wanted To Know About My Blogiversary at Bar Lubitsch Tomorrow
Posted by Caroline on Crack under Los Angeles, Nightlife, Cocktails -All right, so the free booze (Martin Miller’s Gin and Partida Tequila) has been confirmed, Leyna’s Kitchen cupcakes are being baked and the DJ is booked. Blogiversary party, here we come! Woo hoo!
All I need to do now is get my hair did and amass the four guest lists I have out there. So if you haven’t already RSVP’d and intend to go, do that now. I’m closing the lists tomorrow at 9am.
If you RSVP’d on going.com, Facebook, Yelp or on the evite, check in on that list when you get to the door. There are just too many names to put on one list, plus I don’t know everyone’s last names.
BTW, I dropped by Bar Lubitsch on Friday to go over last-minute party details with owner Jared Meisler and that backroom where it’s going to be is awesome. Low lights, chandeliers, lots of sitting areas. Unfortunately it only fits 100 crackheads (I’m anticipating wayyy more than that if my guest lists are any indication), that’s why I said get there early.
Other reasons to NOT be fashionably late: 1) The drawing for the giveaways will be at 9pm so I’ll be collecting tickets only for that first hour (again, those who sport one of my Caroline on Crack T-shirts will get five entries into the random drawing); 2) there will only be 4 dozen cupcakes (minus one cupcake for me) available; and most importantly, 3) free booze ends at 10pm.
The uber talented DJ Aristocat will be spinning after the giveaways and at 10pm after the free booze shift is done, you can purchase Bar Lubitsch’s specialty cocktails at the cash bar if you want to add vodka to your roster of drinks for the night.
The bar features two new cocktails every month and this month’s duo is the pomegranate martini with pomegranate-infused vodka and organic pomegranate juice and something Jared described as a basil mojito with Veev acai liquor, basil, lime juice and club soda.
Oh! And don’t forget to tip your bartenders. Even though the cocktails are free the bartenders are still gonna be working very hard slinging those drinks.
This is going to be my biggest party EVER!, maybe even topping the tiki blowout of 2003! Eesh! See you then, my pretties!
PS: Here are some ways to avoid DUIs after the party:
Bus it: Metro
Cab it: Metro Cab Company (310) 434-1999 or Yellow United Cab (818) 242-9331
Chauffeur it: Home James (213) 347-0155 — they actually drive your car (and you) to your home. Call to make reservation, $35 for first 5 miles and $3 each mile after.

another way to avoid a d.u.i. - live at fountain & curson, and foot it. see you there!

Nice! Lucky! And yet another one, ask a friend who doesn’t drink to drive you.

Oh. I’m on the bus and will be there early so I won’t be left out. see ya tomorrow

Yey! for my five entries…
And another way to avoid a DUI: practice abstinence. Who am I kidding? I’m a crackhead thru-and-thru, I’ll have a couple of drinks.

I cannot make it I’m afraid. Home James is a brilliant idea - but should be half the price or get you more miles for $35 bucks

Ooo both the basil mojito & the pom martini sounds yummy… guess I *will* have to go there early to enjoy in some pre-party libations ;) See you there!

Dang! I won’t be able to make it. And with free food AND cupcakes?
Big sigh.
Couldn’t you do a seperate drawing for the stuck at home folks?
Wishing you a fabulous evening, it sounds like a GREAT party! Congrats on it all : )

I’m excited for such yummy-sounding drinks & cupcakes. Will I have to commit myself to either tequila or gin? Or will I just go for both and commit to a massive Wednesday morning headache. The suspense has got me thirsty. Lookin forward to it.
