Other trends are not so obvious in origin- why, for instance, is there a sudden obsession with macarons? Sure, they&#8217;re delicious, but what happened to raise them to the status of &#8220;the new cupcake&#8221; as some have said? It&#8217;s even more of a rarity when a mundane little vegetable with a bad reputation gets to be the new hot thing. Yes, I do believe we&#8217;re in the midst of a brussels sprouts moment.
