Yum! Pinkberry just came to New York and I am avoiding it. How much longer before we get a Red Mango too?

My contact there said no word yet on NYC openings. Sorry! Guess that means you’ll have to visit me again. Hee.

I would like to hear how red mango tastes. Anyone taste it yet?

Bob, I wrote a little about it here: http://www.carolineoncrack.com/2007/06/08/taste-test-of-red-mango-the-og-of-cute-yogurt/

Red Mango was good and they use real yogurt, not the powdered mix stuff. The only problem was that product was too tart. The best of both worlds is for sure Yogen Fruz, not tart, yet sweet, and not made from mix. I had them overseas when I was stationed in Korea. Rumor is that they are opening in LA soon, I can’t wait!

Red Mango is pretty pathetic with it’s marketing campaign. Obviously the lawsuit against pinkberry was initiated by Red Mango (Ekwhon, Ellen, etc). Check out their site and compare it with the verbage in the pinkberry lawsuit..coincidence, I think not.
Their guerilla marketing tactics not only make them look conniving, but gives other yogurt shops more publicity. Give it up for Pinkberry, they took a chance and are a smash hit in the states. Red Mango is a failing business in Korea, going form 180 stores to only 130 now. In a few years, the Red Mango name will be completely defunct in Korea.

Tried Red Mango for the first time today and was really dissapointed. The yogurt was mediocre, but the fruit was disgusting. It was definitely pre-frozen, and soggy.
There were fruit flies hovering over the fruit and the condiment bar was so messy. I didn’t want them to put anything on my yogurt because the everything looked so dirty!
Interior was tacky, cramped, cheesy. Never will go back. Try it once and decide for yourselves people

It’s funny how much drama yogurt causes. It’s yogurt. Either you like it or you don’t. It’s not the Sharks vs. the Jets.

I heard Yogen Fruz a lot… Are they opening in the US too?

[…] Fortunately, Red Mango is now featuring the confection. (They say they were actually the first to use mochi as a yogurt topping.) Yay! But that doesn’t mean I won’t check out the actual Fugetsu-Do though. […]

OK, we have to set some things straight here.
Red Mango is the original, and Pinkberry in my opinion copied Red Mango (do you see the resemblance in the name?) I visited my family in Korea in the fall of 2004 and tried Red Mango for the first time and loved it. Then in 2005, Pinkberry opened its first store in West Hollywood. I was obssessed with Pinkberry for months on end, until one day, the owner (skinny asian lady) decided to scold one of her workers RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME THE CUSTOMER for giving me too big of a scoop for a topping. I have not gone back since. If the owner of Pinkberry is going to be so greedy and cheap like that after all her success, I can’t patronize.
