I almost didn’t want to celebrate my birthday this year. Last year’s Freaky Tiki birthday at Saints & Sinners with its Hawaiian costumes, tiki decorations, special cocktails, expensivo birthday cake and raffles was enough to make me want to swear off birthday parties forever…or at least until my 40th.
So this year, I thought I’d let the pendulum swing way the other way: Sinatra. That’s right a swank and simple bash at one of my favorite bars, Seven Grand. No goody bags or games and prizes or hosted bars or hot djs to worry about.
Nope, old friends, new friends, crackheads and I will just knock back some whiskey, smoke cigarillos on the patio, highjack the jukebox and eat birthday cake. I love it. Plus Damian, my fave bartender there, will be on hand so remember to ask him for his specialty, the Smash.
So I hope you can make it out and share this special night with me. It ain’t a blowout but it’ll be a blast.

When exactly is your b/d? The big 36!
Bite your tongue! I’m…I’m…oh, yeah, I am 36. Eek. My real birthday is in July but since people are usually out of town for the holiday, I like celebrating 2 weeks earlier.
Here’s the scary part. On your b/d, since we claim we are 0 when we are born up till our first b/d, you will have completed 36 years. Thus, the day after, you will be starting your 37th year. You’re welcome! Calls for a drink, eh?
Actually, I don’t feel 36 or 37 for that matter. So no worries. I think I’ll really start to worry when I hit 40 though.
You don’t need to worry till the Big 5-0.

I know the Big 30. The only reason I fell old is b/c most of my friends are younger then me. I think I’m going bar hopping in only british or irish bars.. Trying to find me a husband. LOl
