Whoever came up with the $12 fruity cocktail is an evil genius... knowing that not everyone can drink beer -- or even wine -- all the time and that they are easier to drink faster. But whenever I think about what $12 can get you in the real world -- say, at least a 1/3 of a bottle of good alcohol or a great sandwich/pizza/appetizer/dessert -- I go for the beer, and save the cocktails for home. People that drink liquor think it's "better" therefore worth the extra cost. People that drink beer would never let a bar get away with charging more than 5-7 for a pint. Andy,
