Just this week, my dear hubby bought me a small red velvet bday cake. I am surprised to read that yours was dry, because I was swooning over the moistness of the cake. The only thing I can think of is that they were a day old. The next day when I raided the fridge for another slice, a lot of the moistness from the night before had been sapped out. I would try their red velvet again if you get a chance to eat it same day and see what you think. Or, maybe it's just better in cake form.
