Cocktail Review: Pearadis at Eleven

The other night I had the most delightful, unusual cocktail: Pearadis at Eleven. Eleven Nightclub and Restaurant recently opened up in boys’ town on Santa Monica Boulevard and their cocktail menu kicks the nearby Abbey’s ass with its variety and innovativeness. With offerings that incorporate unusual cocktail ingredients like Tang and pomegranate vodka, I want to bow down at the feet of this bar’s mixologist. At last something different other than overly sweet specialty cocktails. On our bartender LK’s enthusiastic recommendation we tried the Pearadis ($11), or as the bartenders have nicknamed it, the Pearis Hilton.
Surprisingly despite who it was named after it tasted really good and clean. With Absolut Pear, stirrings lavender and lemon-lime soda, it was quite refreshing and really pretty. Yes, if pretty had a taste, it would taste like this — spiked flower water. Presentation was simple, poured in a tumbler over ice and garnished with several blueberries. But its innocent appearance fools you as this drink is very strong.
Yes, although all the cocktails at Eleven are $11, I have to say that I’m willing to pay that price for the uniqueness of the concoctions. Plus they make ‘em strong here so you get your money’s worth. Next time I’m going back for that NASA cocktail, which uses Tang. You heard me, Tang.

we went back there for lunch the next day and the waiters sucked dick in a bad way. We had a pretty big group sitting upstairs and the waiter took forever to help us, he gave us our bread like 1 minute before the food finally arrived so that was wasted. He gave me lots of attitude while taking my order so I mirrored him, and when he came to ask us if everything is okay the way all waiters do after you have all your food and drinks and shit, I commented loudly, “”why do they always ask that after you have everything and its too late?!”
It’s better at night, after you’ve had a few and at least have the buzz keeping you afloat.

[…] I actually ordered up the rosemary pear one since I had such a great experience with the Pearadis at Eleven. I think pear vodka is my new favorite flavored vodka. So light and perfect for spring. Unfortunately I have to say that I wasn’t all that awed by the pear drink at Ford’s. I know! Just when I thought my boys could do me no wrong. Well, actually it’s not that they screwed up the drink since it seems to basically consist of a martini glass full of pear vodka and a lone spring of rosemary. It’s just that I wasn’t crazy about the taste combination. It might have something to do with the fact that I didn’t immediately down it. I let it sit there as I chatted, ate from a cheese plate and took pictures, and the rosemary flavor infused the pear flavor and it ended up tasting a bit…medicinal. Yeah. […]
