Liquid Therapy: Free Vodka and Sake at Tokio

This sounds too good to be true but apparently Tokio, the retro Japanese lounge/restaurant on the Cahuenga Corridor, has an effective way to get you over the hump: two hours of free vodka and sake. That’s right: two hours of free booze. Every Wednesday it’s all you can drink from 8 to 10pm, and at 9 when the dj gets started you can take a break from all that drinking and settle in to the deep jazzy house music.

From LA.com:

The space is brimming with a sort of Lost in Translation theme: There are hanging lanterns, red leather couches and bamboo fixtures in the rustic dining area. After flailing a bit as a too-cool club, Tokio has evolved into a loungier spot for mellow nibbles and sips.

But to guarantee a place to sit, especially if you have more than a party of four, make reservations since things tend to get tightly packed once the music starts.

Judging by your recent run of posts, someone might get the idea you like alcohol. Just sayin’.

    “BTW, liquor good.”
You don’t mind if I borrow that line, do you?
