REMINDER: Tix for Radiohead at the Greek on Sale
Posted by Caroline on Crack under Los Angeles, Music -
Tickets for Radiohead (one of the best bands EVER) at the Greek Theatre June 29th and 30th are scheduled to go on sale this Thursday the 25th at 10am. For some reason there doesn’t seem to be any presale information through KROQ or Radiohead’s W.A.S.T.E. site. WTF? But about the only thing you can do is sign up to receive a text reminder for your cell phone right before the tickets go on sale. Ah well, good luck to you.
You can always try your luck with KROQ’s contest this week which promises to put you in the pit if you’re the right caller. Being caller 106.7 or whatever also gets you an Xbox and the chance to win tickets to see Radiohead at Bonnaroo — a 3-Day music and arts festival in Tennessee.
They are an awesome band to see live, but I wish they would play at a bigger venue because their shows always sell out. Apparently they like the intimacy of the Greek Theatre venue. Bah!

Oh great, more people to flood the website and cause me not to get tickets. Great public service! Just kidding, sorta…

That’s what my brother said, too! But I’m thinking that with KROQ running their Radiohead contest EVERY Radiohead fan should know by now.

I HATE LOS ANGELES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most people dont even listen to radiohead anymore (i.e. KROQ doesnt play them) yet they steal tickets from real fans because they are self important conceited theiving bastards

Yeah, I already checked online ticket agencies and some are charging $600 per ticket! Bastards!

Well, I clicked at the atomic time of 10:00:00 AM Pacific and all tickets gone. But scalpers have hundreds. How do they do that? Ebay had people bidding on tickets last week for seats in TODAYS onsale show with the caveat “seat TBA at 10:15am”. Doesn’t that mean they have an inside track? Let’s burn the building down! Riot in the street… Who’s with me! Maybe I’ll just have a sandwich.

I tried buying tickets based on that clock too! And got a whole lot of nothin’.

I was in line, with 12 assholes in front of me and was on the phone with Ticketmaster waiting for assistance, and still managed not to get any tickets…
I stopped being suicidal when I realized that I wasnt the guy who was 5 up from me, and waited since 3am to buy tickets… only to get screwed by TOWER RECORDS’ craptastic random ticket # policy.
A random # was called out and then all of sudden 7 people got to cut in front of the guy.
I shoulda thunk about buying tix @ the Greek, itself, no? I really actually want to know if that would have been a likely option.

This does not bode well for Radiohead’s fanboys’ love.

More info from a pissed off poster on a radiohead fan site (DOWN WITH SHITTICKETMASTER):
Here’s why we all got shut out of the LA show.
Brokers spend thousands of dollars to buy “spinner” programs. They are automated programs to open up multiple screens and bypass the manual process we go through….they’re almost impossible to beat.
