I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE SAVED IT I HEARD ABOUT THIS TWO YEARS AGO AND RAN ACROSS THE DEMOLITION LAST NIGHT ON UTUBE.COM I am what they call a preservationest, I love old historical sites and I love art deco even more. I am upalled by the blatent disrespect for the architecture of our history as americans. The hotel is in so many motion pictures and old tv showes. Yet they have to tear it down and leave only a hulk of a building as a reminder and even then they strip it of all its dignaty. That is almost to me making a mockery of it like a trophy head of a vanquished foe. I was sick when they riped an old church down in fort wayne indiana that was in disrepair, it was the first time I experianced the holy spirit and it was the only romanesque catholic church in Fort Wayne Indiana. The lutheran church next door bought the church to keep anything from disrespecting the property that used to be a church. The Lutheran congregation looked to try to save it but the building was too far gone and they could have built a new structure of the same size for a comperable amount of money. They are now in the process of makeing a meditation garden dedicated to the saint with some of the old artifacts of saint pauls. Therefore I created a webpage for the churches of fort wayne should anymore be closed up I want to photograph them for our history so others can see the work of the ancesters that come before us and the monuments they built for future generations. so please put my website on display so that I can share my local history with others.
