Xenii: Where Paris & Leo Party and You, Sir, Certainly Cannot

From Xenii\'s Web Site

OK, one of my NYE party girls mentioned Xenii (“Ex-ee-nee”) in passing as a countdown option, and having never heard of it before, it just went over my head like a mathematical formula. It wasn’t until I checked out Daily Candy’s New Year’s Eve guide that it sunk in. “A private members-only society, not open to the public”? Excuse me? You mean like the freemasons? Intrigued, I went to their site.

Yup, there it was in black and white: “Individuals are accepted into Xenii based on the strength of their relationships with trusted members and the qualities and attributes they bring to the Xenii community.” Which I found to mean, perusing their press clippings, “If you ain’t rich, drop-dead gorgeous or well-connected, go away.”

Paris in the Morning
Xenii looks to be a secret society of partying A-list celebs and their various hangers-on in L.A.’s solution to keeping Jane Schmoes away from Leonardo DiCaprio and Average Joes from Lindsay Lohan. And no, you can’t talk your way into THIS party, invite only! Agents expense the membership fee and modeling agencies have their clients work the parties, all to keep the social circuit so fresh and so elite with a higher caliber of starfuckers.

And since it’s a traveling after-hours soiree with a new venue every time, these velvet rope dodgers never get bored with the digs du noir and party well into 5am, past the regular last call for the rest of L.A. For them, it’s only premium cocktails at all the best clubs where merely standing in the room raises your social standing up several notches.

So, countdown at a Xenii party? Er, right. Not when you have to be Paris Hilton or at least her bff Kimberley Stewart to get in. And who’d wanna?

If you feel like Xenii can benefit from your membership…and you have a referral from an existing member…and think you can pass the membership board’s scrutiny, apply here.

Those galacticclusterfucks! What whores! What wannabes! I hope history glosses over these bitches—their 15 minutes of fame are miniscule compared to the eternity of suffering they will endure from me when i become a six headed demon in hell.

okay,…Paris Hilton is not a member, and Leo isnt either,…Yes they have been to the parties, but there not members,…its all press to make regular people want to join!

Well, who ARE members and why? If it’s not to rub elbows with the elite, what’s the point of its exclusivity? Regular schmos can’t get in anyway, so why dangle Paris in front of them?

Members are actually very down to earth members of the community of Los Angeles.. a lot of us are bankers, in real estate, in non-profits, really all types of businesses. and no Xenii is not to rub shoulders with the elite… because we, the members are what make the Los Ageles scene not Paris or Leo or any of those people.. we are the spenders in the clubs, we are the people that attract other great people to these events.. I grew up in the best cities in the world and I don’t remember a single celebrity pay for anything.. have you?

Xenii is to bring people together and help them recognize that there are a lot of other people in this city that share their aspirations, goals, and dreams and by metting more people there might be a chance to finally do what you’ve always wanted to do througt the help of these people.

I can admit that Xenii has gone a bit downhill from when Sutton ‘apparently’ started promoting for it… its been shitty lately.. drug infested and a lot of members have quit, especially the decent members that actually made Xenii worth going to.

I’m still a member but I hardly ever go.. its sad!

Hmm, Mike, maybe you should make a whole brand-new club and exclude people like Paris! ;)

I would think, even “big baller banker” Mike is seeing way too much into it – the draw is for $650 bucks a month, you and 4 guests your night can start at 12am or 1am, like a normal person, and stay out as late as you want, and enjoy music and people, and have a drink. JUST like you can in EVERY other major market – Miami, New York, Chicago, Vegas etc. Its a bargin at twice the price. But get real, if this were your deal, and you were trying to avoid legal snafus, could you really market yourself as a bar that stays open until 5am and serves drinks all night, and doesn’t even have a liquor license? NO! But you could skirt around it, and call it a “networking society”, and disguise it as a group of down to earth people that just want to share their aspirations – nice try. Anyways, its a late night private bar that serves booze till 5 – spend the $650 and go with some friends, its pretty fun – even though the music is getting weaker.

    Light’s out – PAGE SIX

February 20, 2006 — THE days of floating Hollywood after-hours private club Xenii are over. Promoter Michael Sutton – who co-founded the roving party (which changed its day-and-night locales weekly) – was arrested last Friday at his restaurant, Memphis, sources say. The LAPD had long been on Sutton’s tail. The club – which served liquor after last-call and rented movie studios and private homes to hold its bacchanals – often broke noise ordinances and sent drink-fueled drivers onto the streets in the wee morning hours. Sutton, who also owns the Lodge restaurant in West Hollywood, was booked on charges of illegally serving liquor, among other infractions.

Arrested? Your sources got ahold of some bad crack, which make you a crack head, nice wrong post douche bag. Geesh. Better than ever? I dont think steve get out much. Anyways – could the music get anyworse at this these events? DOUBTFULL! Could there possibly be a bigger gathering somewhere in our galaxy of people drinking plain wrap booze out of plastic cups? NO WAY! Would you spend a bunch of duckets to sit on a cheap ass vinyl couch that looks like it was purchased at Office Max, only to drink vodka that you have never heard of, and Moet champagne? PULEEEEZ! But heck, at least you can say you went.

If you are the kind of person who needs to name drop B- celebrity names in order to validate your existence, then this is the place for you. It’s about as high class as putting high heels and pearls on a whore. It’s about as socially rewarding as a monster truck rally. Like any other LA night club, everyone is pretentious, devoid of personality, and more interested in slamming their $800 worth of Vodka and Red Bull than they are in discussing banking or networking.

Wow, it’s so pathetic I can smell the reek of desperation from 2000 miles away. Seems like a club for overly-wealthy frat boys without friends and wealthy professional men (hunting for trophy wives) who are so utterly personality-free they can’t manage to pick up hot, gold-digging women without paying someone else $650+/month.

Wow, there’s some sad people commenting here. Xenii is alot more than the tropicana bar at the Hollywood going after hours (altho there’s something to be said for that). The club is what you make of it and it sounds like these people were guests and got the opportunity to eat great food and drink great martinis on someone else’s tab, aka membership. Xenii supports a different charity each week, it’s membership is open to info, access and even conceirge services to all the hot and fun and interesting things going on in LA. The cost of a membership, when you really break it down, is pretty cheap when you factor all the things going on and that you can bring friends with you and noone pays for food, drinks or entertainment. The after hours lounge is just one venue. There’s film screenings, charity co-events, a summer lounge from 11am to 6pm on sundays at an incredible changing series of mansions in the hills or Malibu, with food, drinks, entertainment, swimming, masseuses, manicurists, etc, all for no extra fee. Go to a couple of summer lounges, a couple of after hour parties, a couple of their incredible Supper Clubs with dinners hosted by top LA restaurants, a couple of screenings, get a cool restaurant table somewhere or on a club list, etc etc and it seems pretty cost effective to me and the life life we choose to enjoy. We’re not out to be cool, see A or B listers, etc…just enjoy living in this great city. Sounds like these whiners are the glass half empty types. We’re glad Xenii is part of LA.

I went once to one of their after hour parties in a warehouse in Hollywood and it was fun. As a European who has lived in Paris and London, I really appreciate there’s something going on after 2am in LA…

xenii seemed like it went through a bad period a few months ago but the last month of parties have been crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy!!!! I’d seriously like somebody to tell me anything in LA or the world like this. Every single week there are cool Celebs from Jessica Alba to Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock (not just the Paris types) and the musical performances like Tyrese and gypsyie Kings and no offense to some of you out there but I dont see the persians there like i used to and like i do see in all the LA nightclubs. I don’t know anything about the other stuff members say they get but the parties are the only thing that gets me out in LA

i went to the warehouse party last night. my friends and i were invited by some people we met at Shag.

i thought it was fun, but the preformance by warren g was not that thrilling.. but others seemed to think so. the dj was amazing.

i like to be able to have free food and drinks. the people there were not all A listers, in fact there were quite a few ugly people who looked like they were there because they just got off their shift catering it or being bathroom attendants at another club.

the portapotties are not my style.

but all in all saw many beautiful people and i like to people watch and see all of the clothes that they were wearing…i felt like i was in NY again.

i found out that *after they entered my name into the laptop* (found out today) as a guest you can only attend two events ever unless you become a member. if i was to get invited again, i would hope that there would be a better preformance.

Fair comment. This week, I hear they have “tentatively” booked Lenny Kravitz and word is that Jessica Simpson is not far away. I’m a model who was given a comp membership nine months, and for like the last six weeks they have had major artists perform almost every single week, but that’s just icing on the cake. People can hate on it and they will hate on anything, but there is nothing anywhere like Xenii. What I like most though, is that they always seem to change and morph. In recent weeks, people were talking about the crowd becoming a bit too ghetto and then this weekend, even with a major hip hop artist like Warren G, they kept out any kind of ghetto factor, unless people want to call Friday’s black guests like Tyra Banks, Brandy, Will Smith and Andre Harrell ghetto.

Honestly, I’d like to see Xenii eliminate the musical performances or at least most of them. This week may have been the best looking Xenii crowd there has ever been because they cancelled Snoop Dogg’s performance and all of the pot-smoking guys that would have infiltrated our community. Awesome celebrities (and even Prince didn’t bring in any entourage), beautiful girls, and I’m more than happy with a DJ.

I have been to Xenii’s as a guest of a “celebrity.” He does not pay any membership fee whatsoever & I doubt any of the others pay either. I had fun but would not have paid $300 per month for women, let alone the $1000 they are now for charging men!

Hyde is a tiny bar that they can’t help but keep cool by only having 100 spots. Xenii is an entire community, and I give them mad mad respect for what they have accomplished in throwing these 1000 person parties that are hot most weeks. Last night was insane!!!! The celebs and all the other trendsetters, with the huge mix of people, and where they regulate the guy members, it all comes together to create this phenomenal energy that Ive never seen in any nightclub. Whoever is in charge, it truly is an amazing accomplishment, particularly that it seems to continually get better every month.

I was at the last Xenii event on Saturday and like always it was a great time. The nah sayers on this board are simply people who can not afford or are not allowed to attended these events, plain and simple.

I just went to last night’s Xenii party or Wallop party or whatever they r calling it, after a month or so in my own party hibernation, but I have to say that Xenii has never never never been hotter than it is right now. The crowd was Hollywood beautiful, and the celebrities were amazing, including both Jessica Simpson and Ashley Simpson, and about 10 other celebs that I rarely see out. What shocks me the most about the night is that the party was smack in the middle of downtown. DOWNTOWN! I even got lost going there, and don’t know how anybody else even found it. Spectacular venue, but I was really shocked to see that downtown LA could draw that kind of crowd.

The house parties are filled with low life wanna-bees and degenerate drunks. Who else but a total loser would pay $500-$5000 per month? The money is a total ponzi scheme because thay will soon be sued. Save your money for the spa.

I went to Xenii last night and let me tell you – it was a PARTY!!!! there is a free food buffet, free open bar, and HOT people everywhere. what could be better than that??? you don’t have to stay there til closing time if you don’t want to, and you sure as hell don’t have to prove yourself to anyone. there were a lot of classy looking girls, a first on a saturday night out in LA. we even got free manicures???
it was a fabulous experience… get over trying to talk crap about it. if you’ve been there and hated it fine, but it seems like a lot of people here are just bragging on it without even knowing what they’re talking about. (well stated James)
it’s at a different place every week which is really really interesting, wasn’t too easy to find but once we were there it was perfect. what a memorable evening!!!!

This past Saturday was HOT HOT HOT. I don’t know whats going on with Xenii, but it seems like they cut out the entire bad crowd and to showcase the change they went to a members home in the Hollywood Hills instead of their huge Saturday productions. Everyone is talking about some big change they are in the process of making, but its hard to imagine a party being any hotter than Saturday night’s. I do have to say though that after a couple more house parties everyone is going to want the big productions back BUT BUT BUT with the new crowd.

I do not go to these parties, but several friends do, and I was a guest once but I am no night owl like my richer friends are. I hear them say that ALL parties have drugs at them, not just Michael Sutton’s parties, so be real, please. I know Sutton was indeed arrested–for god’s sake, it was published in the LA Times. However, the argument for the courts is whether or not the Xenii scenee is an actual public establishment where liquor is served illegally after hours–if not, then my father, an attorney, says it almost certainly cannot fall under public places and liquor laws. Since it is mobile and at private places or home and business, the drinking laws and smoking ordinances that apply for public estabs almost certainly DO NOT apply for xenii. Finally, if people wish to spend $$$$ to party in private away from Paparazzi and without the common white trash celebrity groupie wannabees, folks that is their business and their money. Who are we to judge? Get a life and tell the truth. GG from Malibu with the tattoo on my left ankle
